Capcom Registers New Darkstalkers Trademark

Capcom's bread and butter fighter has always been Street Fighter. But another Capcom fighting franchise remains a fan-favorite, and it's one that hasn't seen a new installment for damn near a decade: Darkstalkers

Good news, though, Capcom has registered a new Darkstalkers trademark in Europe. The timing is right, as Vampires and Werewolves are all the rage thanks to a certain sparkly, twinkling trio who star in a certain film franchise.

Even if you don't know Darkstalkers the game, chances are you've seen super hot cosplay of Morrigan and Felicia or used them in Marvel Vs. Capcom.

Producer Yoshinori Ono has said previously that he wanted to return to the Darkstalkers franchise, but has been tied up in multiple releases of Street Fighter IV and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and has most recently been adapting Tekken characters into the world of Street Figher with Street Fighter x Tekken. How this guy could have any time left over to do a Darkstalkers is beyond me. But, I sure as shit would love to get my hands on another game in the series – it's been too long.

Speaking of which, wouldn't Darkstalkers just look incredible on the Vita's OLED screen? Hmm….
