Sony Tries To Demo PlayStation VR At PSX 2015, Awkward Failure Ensues

You might have noticed over the years that virtual reality headsets are almost never demonstrated on-stage. There's a good explanation for this.

Sony attempted to demonstrated PlayStation VR during its PSX 2015 conference, the key word being "attempted". The demonstration was filled with bugs, awkward conversation, and most importantly a complete failure to show what virtual reality is like in any meaningful way.

This is the last thing virtual reality needed given what will undoubtedly be a high cost of entry and concerns about health hazards.

Nonetheless, Sony is doing a tremendous job of acquiring support from developers, which will include Polyphony Digital for Gran Turismo Sport and even Double Fine for the newly announced Psychonauts: In the Rhombus of Ruin.
